Volunteer with Home Fur Keeps!

If fostering is not an option, there are still so many ways you can help! We simply couldn’t help all the animals in need without the dedication of our volunteers.

Volunteers may transport animals and supplies, conduct home visits, perform administrative tasks, assist with adoption follow-ups, schedule fundraising events, attend adoption events, or provide computer skills. You can even conduct telephone interviews for prospective adopters… the list goes on and on! Volunteers learn important life skills, undertake new challenges, and become part of a community that understands the importance of protecting and caring for the injured, the abandoned, the fearful, and the brokenhearted.

Please help our animals on the road to recovery!

Volunteer FAQ’s

Volunteer FAQ’s

Yes. We will begin by making sure you understand Home Fur Keeps’ operation in depth, then you will be put in touch with one of our staff members or volunteer mentors who will guide you through your volunteer requirements.
Volunteering is dependent on your availability and we give you tasks that accommodate your schedule. Every volunteer shift varies in length of time and transportation distance, so we confirm your availability prior to the beginning of your shift.
At this time our volunteers must be at least 21 years old and you must be able to provide proof our your current car insurance.
Because we do not have a sanctuary, our volunteers will not be feeding, bathing, or walking our animals. Instead, our volunteers will help facilitate our rescue process by providing help when needed to transport animals from shelters to foster homes, taking animals to vet appointments, training animals, transporting supplies, volunteering at adoption and community events, and networking animals in our organization. Volunteers can also help us with our social media pages and writing animal biographies.
We have so many incentives to keep our volunteers motivated! We track hours spent volunteering, the number of transports made, the number of questions answered through the forum, etc. Every month our top volunteer receives a gift from one of our sponsors. We also participate in a quarterly raffle where all active volunteers and foster families participate to win a prize. We will also hold an annual gathering where we will honor our most dedicated volunteers. Our active volunteers will also receive discounts and promotions periodically from our sponsors.
